Christmas at our house, and the New Year!

Hello Everyone!

Well, Christmas has come and gone, and we can now look forward to a brand new year!
A New year, a new President, new choices, new friends, new events! So much to anticipate and so much to pray over!

New President.
I will miss President Bush, and my prayers are for the president elect to make good choices and ultimately that he will hear the gospel and accept Christ!

New Choices.
I have decided (after much prayer!) to return to the night College I had attended for 2 semesters. I am still in prayer over attending a day college in the fall of '09.

New Friends.
Well, during this year of 2007 some of my good friends moved away! (miss you all!) I am praying for them to find good friends in their new churches.

New Events.
Who knows what this year will bring???????

I will be "praying in the new year" for certain!

I have added a SmileBox so you can all take a peek into our home on Christmas morning!
We had a great day, and good family time.

My Dad is off of work for this whole week! I'm so excited!

I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas

We had a wonderful surprise for us New Englanders!

Looks like we will have a White Christmas!

On Sunday Morning-first day of Winter we had almost 7" of snow!!!!
It was Cold!

I'm Thankfull for Snow plows!

"Old Faithful" Snowblower, giving a hard time! Never fails...a problem every snow fall!

Well....There are always shovels!

Just look at that snowbank!

The lovely sunset!

We also had a play Sunday Evening, my brother Collin was a shepherd.
I helped get him all dressed for the part

He did a great job, and did get most of the laughs from the audience! :)

There are a lot more very interesting pics in the smile Box!

Enjoy the SmileBox!

Beauty in the time of Storms

Here in New England we sometimes have ice storms.
They are extremely dangerous as we often have "black ice" (ice that is too thin to be noticeable but extremely slippery) form on steps, sidewalks, driveways, stairs, the roads etc. Many Power lines will go down, along with trees.

Yet, I have been able to discover and capture the beauty of this natural "fiasco", with my little digital camera. These photos are not taken with a professional camera.

A Lilac bud in Ice

I was reminded of a valuable lesson while taking these photographs,
I have been struggling lately through different lessons that God has been teaching, I saw them as bothersome, and not something I should be learning from.
Just like the Beauty I found in the disaster of an ice storm, there is always a treasure to find during trials.
Along the way I have been discovering the treasures, and things don't seem as bad.

It is amazing how beautiful yet dangerous Ice can be,
It is even more amazing how much my Savior desires to teach me!
There would have been no beauty without the storm, just like I will never grow in Christ-unless I learn to trust Him during a "storm".

(Ice on the wire! It covered EVERYTHING!)

Please watch the SmileBox, I was able to take many stunning photos!

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

We finally put up our Tree! I'm so excited! It is a very old tree, my mother had this tree when she was a little girl, many of the glass ornaments and the star is some 30 yrs old!

...And a Sprinkling of Patience, Lord

Yes, a Sprinkling of patience...has turned into "Lord I need a Gallon of patience!"

You see my darling 4 yr old brother has a new "thing"
His "thing" is... I want it and I want it NOW!

No matter how sweetly I remind him to wait just a minute for the puzzle, game, toy, book, food, etc. He still demands it NOW.

And He always wants it right in the middle of my busiest moments.

When I tell him he must wait he clings to my skirt and begins t o whine and bawl...... *sigh*.

My Mom and Dad are working on this with him!

But I find it rather difficult to maintain a sweet angelic disposition when he acts this way. The worst of it is he wants something desperately, but changes his mind within 20 minutes and wants something else!

Throughout the day "CALEB, what are you up to?" is a constant phrase.

The biggest problem is he is sooooo cute!

So, I keep praying for patience. And then I reach down, scoop him into my arms and kiss his little nose, and he promptly licks me...... *sigh*

What would life be like without little brothers?

:)
