Collin

Meet Collin

Collin is the most adventurous boy in the world!
At 15 yrs of age he has shown incredible spunk, and I think there is not much that would scare him!

He has a big heart too, and can be very kind and sweet, that is when he is not too busy teasing or playing practical jokes. He is always ready to make new friends! Collin has friends from all age groups!

Collin also loves getting all done up! He has the suit, the shoes, the overcoat, the scarf, etc.
He has admitted in the past that he would love a top hat and cane!

:)

Always climbing! Here Collin is with another brother of ours, Matthew.
This was at a zoo.

I love this one! Don't they looks sooooo innocent?

As well as climbing, Collin also loves bugs, he has caught several butterflies, this is a monarch.

As well as frogs and toads too, he has caught about 6 in 2008. He has kept 3 as pets, the longest was a Spring Peeper, he had him for 6-7 months.

This is Collin's favorite place in the world, he adores the ocean.
He loves the open spaces, and how the sea never seems to end.

He also loves getting wet.

This is a Favorite of mine as well!He is pretending to be Horatio Hornblower

This is a typical example of 75% of Collin's pics.
He loves pictures of his expressions, often I grab my camera and see the new 20+ pics of his face and say, "Collin! When did you use my camera?"

He is not just my "little" brother, no! He is my "Little-bit-taller-than-me" brother!

:)

Well, He is alot of fun, I'm proud to call him my brother, and my friend.

Back to School -part 2

To answer a comment and clarify a few things about my "Back to School" post

( by K. Y. Craft)

Believe me I have struggled with this decision of going to a College! It is not a matter of that "I have to go," but one of "God wants me to go"

I have experienced alot of pressure from people, My church has an all day college, (and the night college that I attend). So the pressure is increased. I have had people tell me that If I didn't go to college I would be disobeying God.

All this doesn't matter. Going to school because someone says unkind things to me is foolish, but I had doubts. So I talked it over with my Dad, he told me to pray.

So, I prayed and prayed! I asked God for peace if going to school was the right choice... and He gave me peace and JOY!

I am NOT going for a career, God has laid it upon my heart that my "career" is caring for my family , and to someday care for my, "Mr. Right" and the family we will have.

I'm going so I can learn more about my Lord and Savior! Now is the time I can learn as much as possible in a short time, since I do not have my own Husband and kids to care for, yet
. :)

The best place to be is in the center of God's will for your life. For every person His will for you is different.

So, never bend under pressure, but stand straight on God's Word!

The neat thing about this Night College is... I get to be Home with my family during the day.

Thanks so much for your comments! ~Rebecca

Back to School

Well, that's right, I'm going back to school! A Night College that is!
I know many young Christian Ladies are confused when it comes to choosing whether or not to attend college. It has been the same thing for me!

So..... after much prayer, God has led me to go to this Night College at my Church. I am taking two classes -- New Testament Survey, and Teaching Children the Bible.
I will be starting my second week, and already have alot of homework, and quizzes to prepare for!!

I am enjoying the classes so far. And I LOVE learning more about the Bible! The Teaching Children's class will be a great benefit to me! Some of my fellow students have been very encouraging already!

So, please keep me in you prayers -- that I will listen well, study well, and do all to the glory of God!

Brandon

I am going to start doing posts about my family, entitled, "A Portrait of My Family"
I am starting with my brother, the second child in my family.

Meet Brandon

Brandon is the most organized 17 yr old I have ever met. Everything must be lined up and in order, clean, neat and practical. "A place for everything and everything in it's place" is his motto (I think)

(he is great at teaching small children too!)

He is often running about our house straightening the rooms up, his quick pickups makes everything look much better! He is extremely tall (ok, when you are 5'3" like me, and your younger brother is 6'2"...well, he seems really tall then!)

(look how short everyone else is compared to Brandon!)

He has a good sense of humor at times, and often is able to fix our electronics. He is a great blessing to my dad, because he is strong and sturdy. He is a great blessing to my mother and I because he can reach the pot, pan, book, etc, that is really high up!

At times he is a great brother, and at other times, a teaser! But life wouldn't be the same with out him!

How did I do THAT?

This little guy was a whim.
I was anxious to use my new art set and was kinda bored on the afternoon of New Years Eve, so.....
I sat down with a book about birds and turned to the Titmouse, and began to sketch him for fun
By the time I was adding the colors I was in a state of absolute excitement!
"How did I do that??????"

I can't draw...not very good anyways, I've never had lessons, yet I was able to sketch this little guy! My photo doesn't do the sketch justice!

So, I thought, "well maybe it is one of those spur of the moment things,"

So, for "Haha's" I tried again, and was very pleased with the result!
I used to have pet birds and I loved them, so it was fun for me to draw a bird.
I like this one because he is just "in the moment" of hanging from the branch right before he would fly off.
So far he is my favorite.

This eagle sketch is for my brother, He is challenging, but it is coming along, he isn't going to be done in an hour like the other two!
This was my third one

This was my fourth attempt, this poor little goldfinch is well fed I guess, he is a little plump!

The body came out great, but his legs! Ahh! I don't know what happened!

So, I will have to keep practicing!
And I must seriously study how the birds legs really are!!
