How I Cheered Up

I have gotten wonderful responses to the
"Cheer Up!" post!
So, here is more of why I was "Glum" and what happened after I wrote that post!

These past three weeks had been difficult for me. I was struggling with surrendering things to God, and when I finally did... boy Did I get blessed!

You see, Justin has recently decided to return to his home church every Sunday to teach the youth Sunday school class, since that has been our only time to see each other... well I didn't exactly like this new plan! (we would see each other every other week tho).

I was (and still am) very proud of him teaching that class... but I wanted time with him. For three weeks I struggled with it, I want Justin to do what God has called him to do, but I want to see him!

Finally on Monday I told Justin how "miserable" I was, and he gently showed me how my attitude could be better, and then encouraged me to "keep going forward" the next day I surrendered the problem to God, "Lord, I want to stop feeling sorry for myself, please help me cheer up!" I wrote the previous post to remind myself of all that God has done for me! By the end of the day I wasn't so miserable anymore, and was actually back to being my old cheery self... and guess what God did?!

He arranged a "date" for Justin and I at the college campus during their regular dinner hour. (I was going to class, Justin was off of work, so I went early and he bought Subway.)
Sure we ate in the cafeteria, (the other students actually didn't tease us too bad) but I could care less! It was a very nice time, after class Justin came over to the house to visit me and my family.

God is good, and I wish I had surrendered to Him many weeks ago, but I am glad that I did now!

Anything God has done for you lately?

Cheer Up!

I was visiting some blogs and it appears that so many of us young ladies are discouraged! I know I haven't been my usual cheery self either...ok ok, yeah, I've been very glum.
So I decided to do something about it! Here is a "Cheer up, it ain't so bad" post just for you and me!

Ok, First, let's count our blessings!

Count Your Blessings
When upon life’s billows you are tempest-tossed,
When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost,
Count your many blessings, name them one by one,

And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.

Are you ever burdened with a load of care?
Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear?
Count your many blessings, every doubt will fly,
And you will keep singing as the days go by.

When you look at others with their lands and gold,

Think that Christ has promised you His wealth untold;

Count your many blessings—wealth can never buy

Your reward in heaven, nor your home on high.

So, amid the conflict whether great or small,
Do not be discouraged, God is over all;

Count your many blessings, angels will attend,

Help and comfort give you to your journey’s end.

Count your blessings, name them one by one,
Count your blessings, see what God hath done!
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
Count your many blessings, see what God hath done.
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done!

Matthew 5:4
Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

Proverbs 17:22
A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.

Romans 8:31
What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

Psalm 27:14
Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.

Now Smile!
And think about all God has done for us,
I feel better now too!

If this helped, let me know. If you are discouraged leave a comment, I will pray for you!

God Bless,

Youth Fest

Youth Fest went Great!!
800 kids were in attendance, 25 were saved during the preaching sessions!

My booth was "Ski Ball"

Greeting visitors is Pastor Brown, why is he dressed as "the Riddler?" well, excellent question!

This is just a teeny tiny part of 800 people that came. By the way, this was at 8:00 am! It was freezing cold, but the sunny sun was out!

Info booth. The grounds were covered in frost, the sun was making the frost melt, making everything very wet. My leather shoes were having a field day pretending to be sponges!!

My Justin, and my brother Collin. Justin ran a slingshot booth. Collin here is testing it out.

Justin's cousin Leah trying her hand at the game. I tried it a few times, knocked a few balls down. I say begginer's luck. Justin says, "I beg to differ,"

Our faithful "Proffessor of the culinary arts" (Mr. D) at my church is telling my cousin, Sarah, that he is cold! Mr. D and company ran the concession stand. Hats off to them for making enough sandwiches for 800 people!

Justin's Dad, Mr. Muzyka, ran "Ballon Blast" Very popular!

Justin's friend Max, ( at least I think it's Max) won.

Still early in the morning, but already many people!

I got to hear "POP... POP... POP... POP!" all day long!

Justin's sister Jessica. is the one with the bright pink balloon, Leah is in the green shirt.

Pastor Skelley delivered some very good preaching and a clear, strong, and point blank Gospel message.

At one point my cousin Elisabeth and I wondered if the guys were showing off for us ladies. Lizzie and I helped too, but one guy, Tom, told us, "Don't carry too much girls, we will take care of it!"
