New Church Plant and Wedding News

This past Wednesday we had a prayer of dedication for Pastor David, the new church starts this Sunday!!

Justin spent most of the day working at the church building, helping to get it done. The church building was a bar when Pastor Dave first bought it, but now it will be a church! Praise the Lord!!

So, I am busy with the wedding planning!!! It is fun and it makes my head spin too!! lol

The appointment at the reception hall went great! I really loved the place, and the pricing is reasonable. So Justin and I are praying about it now. So, we shall see what happens!!

We are going to do a butterfly theme for the wedding, so I have been looking around for decorations and ideas to incorporate butterflies.

I am looking at wedding dresses at Eternitygowns.com as they do have some modest dresses.

I recently joined Theknot.com, so I know have a wedding countdown ticker!!

Keep us in prayer!!

God bless,
~Rebecca

Children Serving Him!!

Two of my siblings and I were able to go and help pass out John and Romans for a new church starting in our state. The pastor of the new church is actually my Pastor's oldest son and our former choir director. This picture is of my brother and his friend from Sunday School.

Those two weekends were very exciting ones, and it was simply delicious to see the young children getting excited about the new church and serving the Lord!!

*************************

I know I haven't been blogging much lately, well... wedding planning uses up most of the time on the computer!! As I type, I keep going to other pages on the web checking out hotels for the honeymoon.

:)

Tomorrow I am going with Justin's mom to check out another reception hall. You can pray for that!!

Well, I hope I will be back soon!!

God bless,
~Rebecca

Picture Frames, News and Prayer request

I love taking pictures! And of course I enjoy finding the perfect frame for my special snapshots of life. We will start in my own room!
This photo is from my trip to Maryland this past summer to visit some friends.

The Angel frame was a gift from my Aunt Donna, the picture of the young couple is of my parents when they were engaged. I am in the next pic and the red jewel frame is a picture of my little buddy and brother!

A picture of Justin and I from our 6 month anniversary of courtship. (It's been a whole year since then!!! Wow!) And a sweet picture of my littlest sister

A collage Frame, another picture of Katelyn and a photo of a "fairy"... my other sister. I had edited her photo and it came out so cute!

The collage frame, my parents on the bottom and I. Justin and his parents on the top.

This one is on my nightstand, photo was from Christmas day last year.

My two youngest siblings.

On to the living room, we have a collage of all the kids in our family!

Other little frames

This one is my favorite!! :)

The other day my mother and I were shopping at Kohls and we browsed through their picture frames- I can hardly wait to decorate my own little place someday!! :)

Choir College went very well, Al Smith's (of singspiration) son Dr. David Smith led the program the concert was beautiful and we even had orchestration for a couple songs! both of my grandmothers came.

This past Sunday Justin and I did a little research online looking for different things for the wedding. We also looked at some wedding bands. (that was fun!!) We would like matching bands. There are alot of unique styles out there! Justin even found some celtic type ring styles!

Tonight I got to help Justin with some homework from one of his college classes. It is "planning a wedding" of all things!! lol. Another girl in his class was having her boyfriend help her with the assignment!

On a final note, please keep my grandfather in prayer. He has prostate cancer and had surgery yesterday to remove some cancer. He is home now and in some pain. The doctors plan to start radiation in a few weeks. They expect full recovery, but we do not know what will happen. We are trusting our Great Physician to heal my grandpa and for his salvation.

God bless,
~Rebecca

Update on Life

So, it has been one exciting week here!

Sunday was a quiet day, I was studying for school mostly.
I had an exam in Baptist Distinctives on Monday, (got a 98!)
On Tuesday my parents, Justin and I had an appointment at a reception hall to check it out. Nice place but we probably will not use it for our wedding.

Wednesday is church, but before church is kid's choir practice for about an hour. The Lord blessed me and I got to spend that time with Justin while my siblings sang. It is quite sweet to sit out at a picnic table on the campus and just talk!

Thursday- wow that day was busy!! We had to take my little brother Caleb to a medical center, he had gotten a gash on his ear. (the Dr glued it shut, it is looking better!) Brandon picked me up at the medical center and took me to the college. I had dinner with Justin then off to Ladies' Discipleship class to take our first quiz of the semester. After that I ran to the church for the last half hour of Choir College (a little training time for us, it is wonderful!!)

Today is Friday, busy day once again. I went to the second night of college choir. I even got to see Justin and his family!! :)
Tomorrow we have three hours of practice for the Choir College then a concert at 7.
And then Sunday comes around!! Justin is coming for lunch, and hopefully we will be able to do a little online research for the wedding planning. Maybe watch an episode of the "Dick Van Dyke Show"

Justin is doing well. He is working full time at 3rd shift. I must say he works hard, and he is a good worker. And even when he is very tired he makes time for me.

I am SO GLAD I waited for the Lord's best when it came to courting. It it so worth it!! I thought I would never find anyone, that I was just not noticeable. I thought my case was hopeless!! But God blessed me with a very sweet young man, a hard worker, an encourager, a best friend and a handsome Fiance!! ;) I am just so amazed and so in awe of what the Lord has given me!!

So don't give up hope!! God has the man perfect for you (and the girl perfect for you guys!!)

God bless,
~Rebecca

O Wondrous Love -

Way back in the summer of 2007 I happened to hear this beautiful song called "O Wondrous Love" by Steve and Vikki Cook. I always thought it would be such a pretty song for a wedding.

I forgot about the song until recently, I was actually with Justin and his family and there was a cd playing. The song started playing.

I asked Justin what he thought of that song for our wedding and he said he liked it.
So, the hunt began to find the music.

I visited many websites and sent emails to a few people.... only to find out the song is out of print!!

I looked on Amazon.com and there was ONE copy of the SATB arrangement for the song! My mom ordered it and it just came in this past week!!!!!

I can't praise the Lord enough for this special little miracle!!

You can hear the song at this You tube link "O Wondrous Love"

O Wondrous Love that will not let me go,
I cling to you with all my strength and Soul,
Yet if my hold should ever fail,
This Wondrous love will never let me go,

O Wondrous Love that's come to dwell in me,
Lord who am I? that I should come to know,
Your tender voice assuring me,
Your wondrous love will never let me go,

O Wondrous love that sings of Calvary,
The sweetest song this sinner's ever known,
the song of your redeeming Son,
Who's wondrous love will never let me go.

I'm resting in, in the everlasting arms,
In the ever faithful Heart,
The Shepherd of My life,
You carry me, on Your mighty wings of Grace,
Keeping me until the Day
I look into Your eyes

O Wondrous Love that rushes over me,
I can't escape this river's glorious flow,
You overwhelm my days with good,
Your Wondrous Love will never let me go.

God bless,

~Rebecca
